NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Brookfield Place, commonly referred to as the World Financial Center (WFC), is a group of four (4) towers, all linked by covered pedestrian bridges, internal hallways and the Winter Garden. Built on the Hudson River landfill on the 112 acre Battery Park City, this 13 million square foot facility is located directly across West Street from the site of the World Trade Center complex which was destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. located across West Street from the Freedom Tower (World Trade Center) in the Battery Park City neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Overlooking the Hudson River, Brookfield Place has been home to offices of various companies including Merrill Lynch, RBC Capital Markets, Nomura Group, American Express, Bank of New York Mellon, Time Inc. and Brookfield Asset Management, among others. In 2014, the complex was given its current name following the completion of extensive renovations.
