CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC)
Atlanta, Georgia
To improve efficiency, emergency response to internal and external disasters, and to reduce operating and maintenance costs, CDC’s plan was to develop an Integrated Facility Management System (IFMS) for all the CDC facilities in the United States, integrating all major building sub-systems ( HVAC, lighting, power, SCADA, CCTV, door access control, freezer monitoring, etc). To achieve this goal a highly reliable (99.999%) network infrastructure was vital to ensure adequate access to critical information during both “normal” and “critical” operations.
