Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in Fort Huston, Texas provides comprehensive care to more than 240,000 military beneficiaries living throughout the area. The BAMC main facility consists of two principal buildings. building 3600, referred to as BAMC and building 3608 referred to a as the Consolidated Tower (COTO).
The BAMC building is an eight story, 1.5 million square ft. 450 bed patient tower with a five story ancillary section that houses operating rooms, laboratories, and pharmacies, a three story clinical area with outpatient services and over 1.1 million square feet of interstitial space between floors, servicing the telecommunications distribution requirements of the medical center.
The COTO building is an eight story 738,000 square ft. Consolidated Tower housing administrative space, an outpatient pediatrics clinic, and an expanded Emergency and Trauma department.
As part of the design-build team, RTECH provided telecommunications design services for the new Passive RFID system for both BAMC and COTO buildings.
